MARKET PROFILE
Founded in 1811 as a fur-trading post by John Jacob Astors men, Astoria is the place where Lewis & Clark spent the winter of 1805-06 and is the oldest settlement west of the Rocky Mountains.
Astoria is also the hub of a group of thriving communities; Warrenton, Seaside, Gearhart, Cannon Beach and the Long Beach Peninsula. They are tied inextricably together and known by locals simply as "The Lower Columbia". The Lower Columbia is a diverse community with a thriving economy fueled by shipping, agriculture, retail trade, and tourism.
NNB Astoria is the one source locals and tourists alike turn to for news and information, entertainment, and music.
Were the only media with live and local news coverage every day.
Our News and Talk station, KAST-AM, boasts a full news staff to rival most major market radio stations and serves as the information hub for our music-formatted stations.
